Paynter Dixon Remedial was engaged to upgrade the external enclosed balconies to ensure compliance. Over the years, owners had decided to enclose their balconies, unknowingly changing the building clarification use of their balconies. Due to this change in classification of the balconies, the owners were suppose to ensure floor to

floor fire mitigation requirements, however didn’t. This resulted in a fire order. Paynter Dixon under a design and construct contract removed the existing glazing on the balconies and installed a new fire rated glazed spandrel to meet compliance and then installed a new glazed window system above to maintain the enclosed nature of the balcony.
