The heritage-listed Kenilworth House at St Luke’s Care in the Sydney suburb of Potts Point is a perfect example of a Victorian building, including a 35-degree pitched slate roof. However, over time, the roof began leaking and urgently needed repair. The project included all the complexity of a heritage restoration, including asbestos removal.

Paynter Dixon Remedial was engaged to design and construct repairs. Fortunately, our Remedial team has experience in the speciality job of slate roof repair – contracting an expert team to undertake the tile replacement. The slate shingles contained asbestos. The project team proceeded to draft and implement a safe work removal plan for the hazardous material. With Kenilworth House located on a busy site, the team carefully navigated access and delivery to site. Our team completed the project with minimal disruption.
